As painful as it can be to uphold, my philosophy when it comes to new fitness trends and workouts is “don’t knock it ’til you try it”.
I stick to this philosophy because far too often I see trainers and fitness professionals pushing strong opinions about different types of fitness- anything from Zumba to Crossfit- without ever having actually tried or even seen them.
On one hand, I believe that there are certain moves and exercises that are dangerous, ineffective, and really just unnecessary (read: push-ups on an indoor bike); however, I don’t think anyone- professional or otherwise- is entitled to share an opinion or review on something that they haven’t tried.
So, I’m going to make it a goal of mine to try as many different workouts as I can. Using my experience and professional education as a trainer and group fitness instructor, I will give you a (sometimes brutally) honest, detailed, critical review of every class that I take. Here goes…
