Want to know the secret to being everyone's favorite instructor?
First, let me ask you...
Are you struggling to fill your classes?
Are you taking way too much time to plan classes and you need help streamlining your process?
Are you having trouble getting totally comfortable and confident on the instructor stage?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, don't worry, you are not alone. I totally know how you're feeling right now because I was right there with you.
I still remember my first class...I got on a bike in the back of the room after totally botching my bike setup (Ugh!). The instructor came over to correct things for me, and then went on to deliver an amazing, truly life-changing ride.
I was in love! After 6 months and dozens of rides, I decided to get my certification from Mad Dogg Athletics. The training weekend was an exhausting whirlwind, and I was very excited to get an instructor job, albeit very nervous and unknowingly very unprepared.
I had the passion and I knew how to ride really well, but knowing how to teach was a totally different story.
I spent years struggling to find my groove. I did a ton of continuing ed, and I just couldn't nail down a system. Not to mention my classes weren't building, and I wasn't connecting with my riders.
I felt so discouraged and drained.
So, I gave up.
I quit my position and decided I couldn't cut it as an instructor.
It wasn't until I went back into another class for a ride that I realized I couldn't give up on my passion. There was a reason I wanted this, and I needed to keep trying.
So I tried again, but this time I did things differently.
...And that's when I learned the secret.
The secret sauce of a great instructor is not in the certification or the class profile.
It's not just about the ride...It's about the person leading it.
A great class starts with the instructor.
Your ability to be an inspiring leader will depend on your confidence and your command of the stage. I don't know a single certification or continuing ed course that teaches instructors how to truly be confident and own the podium.
I had to teach myself how to get there, and now I coach others instructors on the same path.
Leading with Confidence: 3 Pillars
1. Your Ride
I will show you how to piece together everything that you've learned, and I will fill in the blanks of anything missing. Here are some of the topics we can tackle:
- Bike setup and proper form
- Class structure and design
- Class profiles
- Music matching and selection
- Auditions and interviews
- Common instructor challenges
- Issues with the riders
- Dealing with management
- Improving class numbers and filling the room
- Social media
- Challenges and promotions
2. Your Body
As instructors, we are constantly focused on a room full of bodies....
Are they safe?
Are they working too hard? Not hard enough?
Are they having fun?
These are all totally normal concerns for an instructor to have. The problem is that when you are constantly focused on others, your own body and health fall to the bottom of the priority list.
We forget that in order to be our best, we have to take care of ourselves first.
Rarely, if ever, have I seen a certification, a club manager, or even another instructor talk about the importance of self-care for instructors. That's crazy!
Self-care absolutely crucial to any instructor's success. Just as you need a plan for your classes, you need a plan for taking care of your body.
If you don't make a plan for taking care of your body, I can 100% guarantee that you will burnout.
I will walk you through all of the facets of self-care, and we will make a customized plan for you, which will even include some cross-training workouts so that you can keep your body going strong on and off the bike.
3. Your Mind
Our thoughts become our actions, which become our habits, which become our lives.
The words you say to yourself matter, and they absolutely affect your success as an instructor.
Learning how to nurture a positive growth mindset will lead you right into confidence, both on and off the bike.
I will teach you my 6-Step Mind-Shift Formula so that you can learn exactly how to get yourself out of a negative spiral and boost your confidence in seconds!
Once we get your mind right, the rest will follow.
How does 1-on-1 Coaching work?
I value community more than anything, especially when it comes to growing and improving as instructors. However, instructor groups can get noisy, and it can be very intimidating to ask questions without feeling judged.
I started 1-on-1 coaching because I was constantly getting messages and emails from instructors who didn't feel comfortable posting their questions in a group. They wanted to get better, but didn't know how to do it without feeling like imposters.
One-on-one coaching is a judgment free way to get the help you need, ask the questions you want, and really truly become the instructor you wish to be.
As soon as you're accepted into the program, we will get started!

I don’t have a certification yet. Can I still do this program?
You sure can! I will meet you where you’re at and we will go from there. We can start with the very basics and take each step as you’re ready for it. The Lead with Confidence program would be a an amazing way to start your instructor journey.
How do I know if this program is right for me?
Once I review your application, I will reach out to you to discuss program options. If I don't think this program will help you, I will be honest. I only accept instructors that I know I can help and that are ready, willing, and able to improve. About Your Coach
Hi, I'm Kate!
I've been an indoor cycling instructor for over a decade. I'm a certified Level 2 Spinning® Instructor and I've gone through dozens of other certifications and continuing education courses. I also teach other forms of group fitness and I'm a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. But, indoor cycling has always been my first love.
I know from my own experience and from talking with other instructors that getting a certification is not enough to feel comfortable and confident up on an instructor stage. Unfortunately, there are just not enough resources to help instructors get what we need to teach our best classes.
So, I took all of the difficult elements of being an instructor - the ones that I used to struggle with - and I built solutions. And I continue to build solutions as I uncover more and more of the instructor struggle.
If you decide to work with me, I promise you that by the end of this 3-month coaching program you will be feeling so confident in your abilities as an instructor, which will allow you to effortlessly fill your classes and inspire your riders. I will be in your corner cheering you on and will support you through any and all struggles you encounter.
Together, we will bring out your unique instructor voice so that you can find your #ridetribe and love every second of your role as an instructor.
